Original War Merit Cross 1st Class without Swords, awarded during WWII for exceptional service not directly related to combat. This silvered cross shows fine pebbling to the arms and a central swastika within an oak leaf wreath. Complete with its original black case of issue, featuring the silvered cross emblem on the lid.
Unmarked example, with solid hinge, pin, and catch. Light age patina and wear consistent with period use. A very collectible and desirable decoration.
