Offered here is an original commemorative medal issued in 1936 for the 25th anniversary of the 1911 aviation meet at the Cannstatter Wasen fairgrounds in Stuttgart, Germany. The event, known as a "Sternflug" (multi-directional flight meet), celebrated the early days of German aviation.
Front side: Features a detailed depiction of an early aircraft flying over the Württemberg Mausoleum (Grabkapelle Rotenberg), with the inscription:
"JUBILÄUMS-STERNFLUG ZUM CANNSTATTER WASEN 1911–1936"
Reverse side: Marked with:
"Der Oberbürgermeister der Stadt Stuttgart – Ortsgruppe Stuttgart des DLV"
and the emblem of the DLV (Deutscher Luftsportverband), the pre-Luftwaffe aviation organization.
