US WWII Original Winter Pile Cap
M1943 OD cotton pile cap.
This is the pile cap as adopted in 1943. It saw little use in WWII but was widely used in Korea and other cold regions for many years. It was followed by the MQ-1 and M1951 pile caps, but many soldiers preferred this early version.
